Shameek Chaudhuri, a former senior partner at AZB & Partners and most recently a founding partner at Vritti Law Partners, has set up his own corporate law-focused firm Avyakta Law in Mumbai.

Chaudhuri and another AZB senior partner, Arvind Ramesh, left the firm last year to set up Vritti. The firm soon added Roopali Singh, also from AZB, and Debashree Dutta from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.

At Avyakta, Chaudhuri is set to bring over two and a half decades of expertise in corporate advisory, cross-border, domestic mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and capital market transactions.

“Avyakta is co-led by a team of senior legal professionals with extensive market experience who have advised varied clientele, including domestic and international conglomerates, financial institutions, funds, private equity players, sponsors, and promoter groups both in domestic and cross-border transactions,” the firm said in a statement.

The firm’s areas of focus will include corporate governance and compliance mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances, due diligence, regulatory and security compliance, regulatory filings and reporting, risk management and mitigation strategies.

In response to queries from ALB, Avyakta said it intends to leverage technology as a differentiator, thereby providing better client service and assisting members of the firm in being more productive. The firm’s deep sectoral knowledge and dedication to high-quality legal services make it a valuable partner for businesses navigating complex legal environments, it added.
