IndusLaw has bolstered its employment law capabilities with the addition of former Kochhar partner Debjani Aich in Bengaluru.

Aich advises multinational corporations on workforce-related operations in India, from both federal and state-level employment and labour law perspectives. She also advises on Indian anti-sexual harassment laws and acts as an external member on the anti-sexual harassment committees of several clients.

Aich has expertise spans employment-related documentation, compensation structuring, compliance issues, employee transfer and integration, immigration matters, and employment negotiations. She also has experience handling complex employee terminations, including large-scale contentious reductions in force (RIFs), and often serves as external counsel during termination discussions.

The move rebuilds IndusLaw’s employment practice after former group head Avik Biswas and partner Vaibhav Bhardwaj left for Khaitan & Co, while partner Sowmya Kumar left the firm earlier this year and joined Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas in August.
