Indian law firm S&R Associates has bolstered its projects and M&A capabilities with the addition of partner Aakanksha Joshi, who leaves Economic Laws Practice (ELP) after fifteen years.

Joshi, who will join S&R on Aug. 19, focuses on the projects, infrastructure, and energy sectors. She advises clients on the regulatory framework, contracts and deals relating to and investments in infrastructure projects, including energy (conventional and renewable), shipping, ports, roads, airports, railways, warehousing, data centres, e-mobility, and waste and water management.

Joshi recently advised New Silk Route Advisors in relation to the sale of its stake in Destimoney Enterprises Limited to Carlyle which also resulted in an indirect acquisition of 49 percent stake in Punjab National Bank Housing Finance Limited. This is said to be Carlyle’s first major buyout in India.

Aakanksha also advises hospitality clients on acquisitions, franchising and management of hotels, restaurants, and other hospitality-related businesses.

S&R now has 140 lawyers, including 40 partners and counsel across its offices.
