Indian law firm SNG & Partners has hired Ravi Bhadani as a partner to boost its insurance and funds practice, tapping his more than two decades of experience as an in-house legal counsel, the firm said.

Bhadani, until January, the executive director for legal affairs at JPMorgan Chase & Co in Mumbai, will be based in the financial capital. He had recently been running his own private practice.

"Ravi's expertise in this domain aligns perfectly with the burgeoning demand for legal counsel in insurance, making his joining particularly timely and significant," SNG founder and chairman Rajesh Narain Gupta and managing partner Amit Aggarwal said in a joint statement.

Bhadani, who advises on insurance laws, corporate matters, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issues and litigation, worked at JPMorgan in Mumbai since 2019. Prior to that, he had stints at companies, including insurer Aviva India in Delhi and Max Life Insurance in Gurugram.

The hiring is a strategic move for SNG amid India's expanding insurance business, the statement said. With Bhadani coming on board, the total number of partners at the law firm has grown to 27.
