The Times of India has recruited Sudip Gupta as director of legal in Delhi from ATC Telecom Tower, where he was vice president of legal (Asia). Well-versed in the technology, media, and telecommunications industries, Gupta previously worked at sports TV network ESPN STAR Sports and Avaya India, as well as law firms Fox Mandal and the erstwhile Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co.
Bengaluru-based Property Share has hired Prashant Kataria as general counsel and chief compliance officer from law firm King Stubb & Kasiva, where he was a partner. Kataria is experienced in transactions in the private equity and venture capital space. Before joining KSK in 2021, he ran his own law firm, and previously worked at Lexygen Legal Consulting and Nishith Desai Associates.
Financing expert Shishir Kumar has joined Mumbai-headquartered Aseem Infrastructure Finance as chief compliance officer and general counsel. He was most recently head of legal at alternative investment fund Edelweiss Alternatives, a role he had held since 2014. Previously, Kumar worked for IDFC First Bank and IDBI Bank.
Fintech company Angel One has welcomed Meenal Maheshwari Shah as its group general counsel from LemmaTree where she served as group legal director and data protection officer. With experience in a range of legal transactions, as well as a variety of legal, policy, and regulatory matters, Maheshwari Shah counts Essar Group, the Times of India, and law firm Khaitan & Co as her previous employers.
IP and real estate specialist Sanjeev Sachdeva has moved to developer Elan Group in Gurugram as head of legal from law firm Mine & Young, where he was a senior partner. Sachdeva has prior experience as an in-house counsel, having previously worked at technology and logistics company Gumberg India, as well as real estate developers M3M India and Emaar.
