Aditya Birla Group, Vertiv and Hinduja Group make new senior legal hires
Sudipta Chakraborty joins Aditya Birla Group
Mumbai-headquartered industrial conglomerate Aditya Birla Group has recruited Sudipta Chakraborty as Vice President - Group Legal & Compliance. She was formerly General Counsel and head of compliance of health and wellbeing services company RoundGlass, which is based in Gurugram.
Chakraborty brings to Aditya Birla Group her almost 20 years of experience as an in-house counsel and a lawyer at various companies and law firms. She advises on compliance matters such as data protection, privacy, ethics and tax.
Having spent the first four years in her career at PwC and EY, Chakraborty moved to law firms Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys and later Economic Laws Practice. She then moved in-house by joining automotive parts manufacturer Adient in 2013 as APAC Leader - Legal, Compliance and Taxation. She then worked at FMC Corporation before joining RoundGlass.
Vandana Bedi joins Vertiv
Vandana Bedi has left her role as Senior Vice President- Legal and Corporate Affairs at craft beer brewery Bira 91 to join technology services company Vertiv as Vice President and General Counsel for the ASI region.
With almost 20 years of experience, Bedi has a wealth of experience in general corporate, disputes, M&A and investments.
Prior to joining Bira 91 in 2018, Bedi held senior in-house roles at beverage maker Beam Suntory and communication technology company Hughes Network Systems. Earlier in her career, she worked at law firms Trilegal and Advani & Co.
M. Vasudev Rao joins Hinduja Group
Indian industrial conglomerate Hinduja Group has hired M. Vasudev Rao, a former Group General Counsel at the National Stock Exchange of India, as Group General Counsel.
With roughly three decades of experience mostly in in-house roles, Rao is well-versed in due diligence, contracting, compliance, and risk management, among other corporate matters.
Rao worked for NSE for more than 11 years, first as General Counsel & Senior Vice President, and then became Executive Vice President, Group General Counsel & Head CSR. Previously, he was Assistant Vice President, Corporate Legal at Indian media giant Bennett, Coleman & Co.
