Indian law firm Economic Laws Practice has continued the growth of its recently launched capital markets practice with the addition of former Luthra and Luthra Law Offices lawyer Prashaant Vikram Rajput in Mumbai.

Rajput joins his former colleague from Luthra, Geeta Dhania, who joined ELP along with six fee-earners to launch the firm’s capital markets practice earlier this month.

With Rajput’s addition in Mumbai, “we look forward to our capital markets team collectively increasing their availability in the financial capital of the country,” said Suhail Nathani, ELP’s managing partner, in a statement.

Rajput has over 18 years of experience advising on capital market transactions, including initial and follow-on public offers, rights issue, and qualified institutions placements.

Rajput left Luthra as a partner-designate in 2022, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before joining that firm a year prior, he was a partner at White and Brief and an associate partner at Link Legal (now Dentons Link Legal).

Tax-focused ELP has been expanding across other practice areas this year, with the addition of international arbitration pro Karam Advani in Mumbai, and former Ola Electric general counsel Sanjit Nagarkatti in Bengaluru.
