Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co has bolstered its corporate transaction capabilities with the addition of partner Mahesh Wasadikar from Desai & Diwanji in Mumbai.

Wasadikar has over a decade of experience advising on private equity and mergers and acquisition transactions across sectors such as healthcare, BFSI, infrastructure, manufacturing, and industrials. He also has expertise in the growing electric vehicle market in the country.

He joined Desai and Diwanji as a partner in 2021, prior to which he worked at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Rajani Associates, and Crawford Bayley & Company.

His hire comes amid a rise in private equity and venture capital deals in India, with more global funds looking to make strategic investments in high-quality Indian assets.

“His extensive expertise in corporate law and strong track record in complex transactions will be an asset to our firm,” said Pallavi Shroff, SAM’s managing partner, in a statement.

Wasadikar’s move is just the latest shot fired in a major talent war that has broken out in the Indian legal market. Track our coverage of the latest lateral partner hires here
