This is an interesting in-house regional opportunity for a mid-level commercial lawyer in the healthcare sector.
Our client provides a range of services to healthcare communities across Asia including faciliating information exchange, marketing solutions and communications planning. Our client is looking to expand its regional legal team with the hire of a regional counsel based in Kuala Lumpur to look after legal and compliance matters for its businesses in Malaysia, the Philippines, India and the Middle-East.
- Reporting into the head of legal located in Singapore, the successful candidate will be the sole counsel in Kuala Lumpur.
- Candidates should have experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements including NDAs, services agreements, license agreements, purchase agreements, agency and distribution agreements.
- Responsibilties will also include providing corporate secretarial support and conducting legal training for the business.
Qualification
- Law degree and at least 5 years PQE.
- Previous international experience and working in-house with a MNC is preferred.
- Sound knowledge of contract law and company law with demonstrated experience of drafting and negotiating commerical contracts.
- Ability to anticipate business and legal issues proactively to ensure that risks are identified and proper actions implemented in a timely manner.
- Creative problem-solving abilities and a pragmatic/business-oriented approach to legal issues.
- A team player with good team spirit but able to work independently as the sole legal counsel in the Kuala Lumpur office.
