Our client is a leading law firm with 2,500 lawyers across more than 32 offices spanning key markets across the Americas, Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, with a particularly strong reputation in the financial sector.  

Role: Compliance Manager 

Key Responsibilities:

- Monitor compliance with global policies in the local office

- Design, develop and implement preventive monitoring mechanisms with respect to compliance objectives

- Advise the teams in the Beijing and Shanghai offices on queries relating to gifts and hospitality

- Proactively identify and assess key regulatory and compliance risks of the local office

- Regularly report to the OMPs and HIC on regulatory and compliance matters that may arise.  

Skills and Experience 

- The successful candidate should meet the following criteria and have no less than 6 years prior working experience

- Previous experience as a Compliance professional or other experience relevant to the role and its key responsibilities

- Good understanding of local bar regulations and law firms

- Good understanding of local anti-money laundering, anti-bribery, data privacy and insider trading regulations 

- Legal qualifications, particularly in the practice of PRC law, will be considered favourably
