Indian intellectual property firm Sujata Chaudhri IP Attorneys has added partner Eshani Kaul to its ranks, the firm’s first lateral partner hire, citing an increase in trademark-related work firms.

“The growing volume of our trademark work required us to bring in an experienced senior-level resource to the firm,” founder and managing partner Sujata Chaudhri said in a statement.

“While the other partners at the firm are homegrown or organic, Eshani brings the experience of working with another IP firm, which, I very much hope, will give a new dimension to the trademarks and copyright practice at the firm and new perspectives on firm management,” Chaudhri added.

Kaul was previously an associate partner at IP firm Saikrishna & Associates. She has 15 years of experience in trademarks and brand protection, advising clients on IP due diligence, trademark clearances, filing and prosecution of applications, oppositions, revocation and invalidity actions, domain name disputes, assignments, and complete portfolio management.

“Prosecution has always been the core of my practice and I'm looking forward to an opportunity to deepen this practice for the firm,” Kaul said in a statement.

With Kaul’s addition, the firm has 4 four partners and a total of 25 fee-earners.
