Indian law firm Argus Partners has added equity partner Pallavi Kanakagiri to its Bengaluru-based private equity/venture capital and M&A groups.
Kanakagiri was an equity partner at IndusLaw till August, when she quit to join Claypond Capital as senior vice president, according to her LinkedIn profile.
Kanakagiri is Argus’ seventh partner hire this year, following banking and finance attorney Aseem Dhawan from Trilegal, a 10-member corporate team from IndusLaw including three partners, banking and finance equity partner Utkarsh Bandhu from JSA Advocates & Solicitors, and Aayush Kumar, former assistant general counsel at Nayara Energy.
She specializes in private equity, venture capital, and M&A transactions, with a focus on foreign direct investment. She advises clients on structuring deals, representing both buy-side and sell-side parties.
Kanakagiri's clients include private equity funds, hedge funds, sovereign investors, and venture capitalists, across early-stage (seed and Series A) and late-stage investments. She also has expertise in technology, pharma, finance, education, and healthcare sectors.
“Pallavi will play a very key role in the Bangalore practice as well as the overall corporate practice of the Firm. Bangalore is an extremely important jurisdiction for our Firm as we strengthen our footprint there,” said Argus’ managing partner Krishnava Dutt in a statement.
