Indian law firm IndusLaw has its first partner hire of the new year with the addition of Megha Arora to its projects, energy and infrastructure practice in Bengaluru. Arora joins from JSA Advocates & Solicitors, where she had been a partner since 2017.
Arora brings over two decades of experience advising clients across the energy, infrastructure, climate change and construction sectors on project development, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border investments, bid advisory, and the structuring of energy and project-related contracts.
In the renewable energy space, Arora has provided legal guidance to solar and wind energy players concerning acquisitions and investments. Her work in the oil and gas sector includes advising on project contracts for India’s key LNG terminals. Additionally, she has led project finance transactions in the banking and finance sector, focusing on power, refinery, and city gas distribution projects. Her contributions to the construction and infrastructure sector include advising on turnkey projects, urban infrastructure, and Smart City initiatives.
Prior to joining JSA as a partner in 2017, she was a partner at HSA Advocates. Arora also previously had stints at Khaitan & Co and Trilegal.
“Her depth of expertise in projects, energy, and infrastructure coupled with her transactional experience will significantly enhance our capabilities in this sector,” said Avimukt Dar and Suneeth Katarki, IndusLaw’s founding partners, in a statement.
Arora is IndusLaw’s fourth partner hire since late in October last year, after real estate pro G Madhusudhana, capital markets equity partner Kaushik Mukherjee, and banking attorney Nitika Jain.
Last week, JSA brought in IndusLaw partner Pritha Chatterjee to strengthen banking and finance practice.
