Phoenix Legal has bolstered its corporate and M&A capabilities with the addition of Rahul Deodhar as a partner from JSA Advocates & Solicitors in Mumbai.

Deodhar, who joined JSA as a partner in June 2023 as part of a four-member team from Desai & Diwanji, has over 13 years of experience advising large domestic companies, multinational corporations, private equity firms, venture capital funds, start-ups and early-stage emerging companies on their corporate transactions, M&A, joint ventures and general corporate advisory.

"Phoenix Legal's commitment to providing commercially viable legal solutions and unwavering client support aligns perfectly with my own professional values,” Deodhar said in a statement.

"Rahul's client-centric approach and hands-on expertise align seamlessly with our firm's values,” said Sawant Singh, Phoenix’s co-founding partner.

Phoenix Legal’s recent expansion includes the addition of Piyush Mishra as national bankruptcy head, and banking and finance partners Rohit Sharma and Shivani Sinha, all from Luthra and Luthra Law Offices.

JSA, which has been on an aggressive hiring streak this year, has also lost a few partners. Capital markets partner Mathew Thomas joined Saraf and Partners, while Bengaluru partner Lalu John Philip left to start his own boutique Boolean Legal.
