Indian law firm Singhania & Co (S&Co) has grown its white-collar litigation practice by absorbing a specialist firm led by Mahika Varma, who comes on board as a partner.

A seasoned litigator and former Standing Counsel for the State of Himachal Pradesh in the Supreme Court of India, Varma brings with her significant experience in defending high-profile clients in complex criminal law matters.

The move aims to bolster the firm's capabilities in white-collar litigation and government investigations. Rohit Jain, managing partner at Singhania & Co, expressed enthusiasm about the merger, stating that Varma's "vast experience and deep expertise in criminal law, particularly in white-collar crimes, will significantly enhance our litigation practice."

Her hire comes about a month after S&Co added Sridhar Mothe, former head of NCC’s Contracts & Claims Building, as a partner in Hyderabad.
