Indian law firm Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co has appointed corporate lawyer Nikita Goyal as a partner in Gurgaon from IndusLaw.

Goyal, who spent the entirety of her decade-long career at IndusLaw, advises funds and corporates on investments and acquisitions in India and overseas.Her clients have included hospitality firm OYO, coffee chain Blue Tokai, private equity firm Elevation Capital, investment firm CX Partners, and re-commerce platform Cashify, among others.

"We are pleased to welcome Nikita as a partner in our firm. Her expertise will further strengthen our General Corporate practice," said Pallavi Shroff, managing partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, in a statement.

Akshay Chudasama, also a managing partner, added Goyal's "skills and experience align well with our commitment to client satisfaction."

Goyal’s hire was announced barely days after SAM rainmaker Iqbal Khan took a 20-strong M&A group to rival J Sagar Associates.

Earlier this year, SAM hired capital markets partners Rohit Tiwari and Devi Prasad Patel from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and Khaitan & Co, respectively.
