Four disputes partners at Indian law firm Saraf and Partners, led by senior equity partner Manmeet Singh (L), have left the firm to join Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas.

The other partners are Alok Shankar, Anugrah Robin Frey and Sairam Subramanian.

Singh is the leader of Saraf’s disputes practice as is part of the firm’s management committee. He has close to two decades of experience and is considered a market leader in high-value commercial litigations, arbitrations and insolvency proceedings.

He acts for a range of international and domestic clients including financial institutions, foreign companies, private equity, strategic investors and large Indian conglomerates. His clients have included Bank of India, JSW Steel and GR Infrastructure. 

Singh joined Saraf in 2021 after spending more than a decade at Luthra & Luthra Law Offices.

"His extensive experience and expertise in handling complex and high-value commercial litigation and arbitration matters will bring immense value to our practice," Cyril Shroff, CAM's managing partner, said in a statement. 

Shankar specialises in regulatory disputes in infrastructure and other regulated sectors such as electricity, airports, oil and gas, and telecom. He also regularly advises and represents stakeholders in disputes related to electricity regulatory commissions all over India. Shankar had been at Saraf since 2022, when he joined from HSA Advocates.

Subramanian advises clients in a variety of commercial, corporate and contractual disputes. He has represented clients in disputes arising out of shareholders’ agreements, joint ventures, foreign private investments, recovery claims, insurance claims, construction contracts and real estate transactions. Subramaniam joined Saraf in 2022 from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co.

"The disputes practice in CAM has been one of the fastest growing practices in the firm," Indranil Deshmukh, head of the firm's dispute resolution group said in a statement.
