Amit Singhania, a former equity partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, has left to establish his own firm, Areete Law Offices.
Areete is a full-service law firm with focus on cross-border transactions including investment, joint venture and M&A.
Singhania, who was in SAM’s tax practice group, is a member of National Executive Committee of Taxation of CII and National Executive Committee on Direct Taxes. He has been involved in a number of big-ticket cross-border transactions in the past few years, including the $16 billion Walmart-Flipkart deal, Kubota’s $1.26 billion acquisition of a stake in Escorts, and Bharat Petroleum Corporation’s $321 million buyout of OQ’s stake in Bharat Oman Refineries.
Singhania worked at SAM since 2015, prior to which he was at the pre-split Amarchand & Mangaldas & Suresh A Shroff & Co for eight years. He worked at PwC earlier in his career.
