International tax lawyer Dhruv Janssen-Sanghavi has left Nishith Desai Associates (NDA), where he was co-head of the international tax and tax litigation practices, to start his own firm called Janssen-Sanghavi & Associates - International Tax Counsel.

The new firm, which will have offices in Amsterdam and Mumbai, will focus exclusively on international tax litigation and advisory services for corporations and private clients.

"There is no better practice than good theory applied to a client's bespoke needs," said Janssen-Sanghavi & Associates in a statement, adding that the firm will foster long-term partnerships to help clients navigate complex areas like tax treaties, transfer pricing and base erosion and profit shifting (BEPS) rules.

Janssen-Sanghavi started his career at Nishith Desai in 2007, before moving to Vaish Associates and then academia in the Netherlands. He returned to Nishith Desai in 2021.
