Indian law firm Gravitas Legal has expanded its team in Delhi and Mumbai by appointing two new partners, Apoorva Chandra (L) and Kaynat Sheikh.

Chandra, a specialist in corporate and transaction advisory, rejoins Gravitas from Sarthak Advocates & Solicitors, marking his second tenure with the firm where he previously served from 2017 to 2018. He brings over 15 years of experience in handling private equity, venture capital, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and general corporate matters.

Before his stint at Sarthak, Chandra worked at Lex Chambers, Hariani & Co, and King Stubb & Kasiva. In 2023, he was named among the ALB India Super 50.

Sheikh, who joins from her role as in-house head at Vikram Solar, specializes in the energy sector, focusing on disputes, project development, and product liability. She has a 12-year background in the legal field and was previously associated with Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas and DSK Legal.

With the addition of Chandra and Sheikh, Gravitas Legal now comprises seven partners. The firm also elevated finance and restructuring lawyer Ajay Kumar to the partnership recently. Kumar, who joined the firm in 2016, was named as one of the ALB India Rising Stars last year.
